B.P. Molinaro declares Summer 2007 a time to support Staten Island’s cultural treasures
Visit seven Borough attractions and receive a free t-shirt and souvenir DVD
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Borough President James P. Molinaro today declared that the Summer of 2007 is Staten Island’s time to “Support Your Borough Attractions” and is launching a promotion offering free T-shirts and souvenir DVDs to Islanders who visit seven or more of our cultural treasures.
“This summer, I encourage all Staten Islanders to discover our Borough’s many wonderful attractions,” said Molinaro, who has allocated more than $12.5 million to the Island’s cultural institutions. “Our museums, historic sites, cultural centers, botanical garden and zoo have many exciting new exhibits and programs. So get out and support the attractions in our own backyard!”
From July 4th to September 1st, Islanders who visit seven or more of the following attractions will receive a free “I Love Staten Island” T-shirt and “Borough Hall Centennial: A Walk Through History” DVD:
* Staten Island Children’s Museum
* Historic Richmond Town
* Sandy Ground Historical Society
* Staten Island Botanical Garden
* Museum of Tibetan Art
* Noble Maritime Collection
* Alice Austen House
* New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden
* Snug Harbor Cultural Center
* Garibaldi-Meucci Museum
* Staten Island Museum
* Staten Island Zoo
* The Conference House
“Our quality of life is greatly enhanced by having many educational and exciting cultural attractions,” said Molinaro. “So let’s not take them for granted. Visit them often and support them with memberships and volunteerism. You’ll discover hours of fun for the entire family!”
To qualify for the free T-shirt and DVD, participants must call the Borough President’s Helpline at (718) 816-2000 for a form to mail back with your ticket, receipt, or other proof of purchase. Offer valid until September 1st, or until supplies last.
